Juanmita Lopez DeJesus was already aligned with one of the sport’s leading promoters in Top Rank.
Now the second-generation fighter has signed an exclusive managerial contract with respected business broker Peter Kahn.
Lopez, the son of former two-division world champion Juan Manuel Lopez, is a 19-year-old southpaw junior bantamweight from Caguas, Puerto Rico. The 2024 Olympian made his pro debut in February and has already racked up three wins this year, with two victories coming by knockout.
“I am excited to announce that experienced manager Peter Kahn is joining my team,” Lopez said in a statement. “This signing is a significant milestone in my career and will provide me with opportunities to achieve my goals in the sport of boxing. Together, we are building a complete team that reflects my commitment to becoming a world champion for my people and my determination to proudly raise the Puerto Rican flag high.”
Kahn, the 2022 Manager of the Year voted by the Boxing Writers Association of America, added another rising star to a stable that includes WBO junior middleweight titlist
Xander Zayas, undefeated lightweight contender
Andy Cruz and unified women's super middleweight champion
Franchon Crews Dezurn.
“I am extremely excited to be working with Juanmita and his team,” Kahn's statement read. “He is a very young and talented fighter and has all of the tools to be a world champion in multiple weight divisions. He will add to the rich history of Puerto Rican champions. He is bilingual, he has a great personality and understands what it’s going to take to fulfill his dreams.”
